How it all began

On a Tassie adventure the boy and I pulled into Eureka Farms near Scamanda. The boy had been there before and was quick to warn me that the owner may not be the most friendly. Prepared, I entered the back area and the owner was there, sitting at the table reading the paper. His wife behind the counter ready to sell us some home farm made goodies.

I made a beeline for the chutney's and there all plump and purple was a beetroot and apple chutney. Purchased and transported back to Melbourne it didn't last long.

When asked what I wanted for Easter and the last tasty bit of beetroot still in my memory, I asked for more Beetroot Chutney!

Dating the boy long distance for only a couple of months it was a big task to ask his mum to get the chutney when she was next up the North East coast. Regardless the boy pursued and come early June 2011 another jar of Beetroot Chutney was mine.

From there with the wonderful amount of chutneys on offer in Tasmania this blog is to document these adventures... enjoy!
